Three days after Mother’s Day, a 32-year-old Southwest Greensburg man was arrested after being accused of robbing his mom with a pellet gun, according to court documents.
Nicholas S. Aaron was arraigned Thursday on multiple charges of aggravated assault, robbery, simple assault, making terroristic threats and harassment filed by Southwest Greensburg police in connection with the incident that occurred about noon Wednesday. District Judge Chris Flanigan ordered Aaron held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $50,000 bail.
Police Chief C.J. Kent reported in court documents that he received a call from Terri Aaron, who lives on Sewickley Street. She told him that she had just been robbed at gunpoint by her son and wanted to file charges. She said her son came to her home and demanded “$20 to buy drugs,” Kent reported.
“When she refused to give him the money, he threatened to trash the house. She then gave him the money and he left,” Kent wrote.
He returned a short time later claiming he had been robbed and demanded more money, Kent reported.
“Terri said when she refused to give him more money, he stuck a gun to the left side of her head and threatened to kill her and then kill himself,” Kent wrote.
When Terri Aaron told him she had no more money, her son pulled the gun away and ran to another relative’s home, Kent reported.
Police arrested Nicholas Aaron Wednesday on Welty Street.
Kent said a pellet gun that was believed to have been used during the incident was found hidden in a laundry basket at a relative’s home.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled June 4.
