Tips from the public helped Greensburg Police identify a 29-year-old man who allegedly passed a counterfeit $100 bill June 20 at a downtown pharmacy.

Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Jonathan D. Sherback, whose last known address was Pittsburgh, on charges of retail theft, theft by false impression and receiving stolen property. Sherback has also formerly lived in Greensburg and Latrobe, according to court documents.

Police allege Sherback passed the counterfeit bill about 5:45 p.m. at Precision Care Pharmacy at 434 E. Pittsburgh St. and then fled in a black Nissan. Police released a photograph of the suspect following the theft, which led to learning his identity.

Detectives are asking anyone who may know where Sherback is to telephone police at 724-834-3800.
