A tractor-trailer overturned along I-70 near New Stanton early Wednedsay. The crash occurred about 12:30 a.m. and sent the driver to the hospital, according to authorities.

A section of I-70 eastbound near New Stanton was closed until about 11 a.m. Wednesday as crews removed an overturned tractor trailer that crashed earlier in the morning.

PennDOT District 12 reported the eastbound lanes were closed between Exits 51-57 for approximately one hour to remove the truck that overturned onto an embankment near the New Stanton exit.

The truck driver was transported to an area hospital with an undisclosed injury, according to authorities. A state police report on the crash was not immediately available.

The 12:30 a.m. crash temporarily closed traffic in both directions.

PennDOT said traffic was diverted to Route 31 East to Route 119 North.
