Murrysville police are continuing to advise residents and motorists to avoid the intersection of Route 22 and Berlin Farm Road after a crash on Tuesday damaged a control box containing the operating equipment and power source for the intersection’s traffic light.
“It is a very extensive repair,” department officials responded to a question on the “Franklin Regional Community” Facebook page. “The repair techs need to build and program equipment to get the lights operational. It will be at least tomorrow until a repair is possible.”
Until that happens, police said only right turns can be made from both Berlin Farm and Harrison City-Export roads.
“Turns can be made at the Cornerstone jug-handle and Triangle Lane,” the comment reply reads. “During heaving traffic times in the (morning on Wednesday), traffic wanting to go west on Route 22 should consider using Mellon Road.”
