A 71-year-old woman was eating at Panera Bread in Hempfield about 11:15 a.m. Nov. 27 when someone stole the wallet from her purse, police said. The thief then drove to Best Buy, also off Route 30 in Hempfield, and bought an Apple iPad computer for $1,060.

The thief was photographed by a surveillance camera at Best Buy, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to telephone state police at 724-832-3288.
