Truck strikes, closes bridge over I-70 in Rostraver
The Crawford Lane Bridge in Rostraver was closed to traffic Tuesday afternoon after it was struck earlier in the day by a truck driving below on Interstate 70.
Inspectors were evaluating damage to the bridge Tuesday. The driver of the truck stopped at the scene, and no injuries were reported, according to PennDOT.
Motorists will be directed along a posted detour following Finley, Indian Hill, Rostraver and Piersol roads.
Single-lane restrictions for those driving west on I-70 in the area will be in place, as needed.
PennDOT is looking to replace the Crawford Lane Bridge and another span that carries Indian Hill Road over I-70 as part of a proposed project that would reconstruct the Arnold City interchange on the interstate. The project, which is in a final design phase, would add a roundabout at the eastbound ramps of the reconfigured interchange and would widen the median and shoulders along a 1.75-mile section of the interstate.
