In downtown Greensburg, a man’s home could be his Palace.

The last four apartments developed by the Westmoreland Cultural Trust above the Palace Theatre are ready for occupancy.

One of the third-floor apartments is already spoken for, but the other three range in size from 808 to 1,218 square feet. Rent includes all utilities and starts at $1,215 per month.

An open house is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Tuesday.

The opening of the apartments, which were completed in June, concludes the Trust’s nine-year effort to renovate the space on the second and third floors of the historic theater. The four second-floor units were opened in February 2018.

“These high quality, affordable apartments are a welcome addition to Greensburg to further the revitalization of downtown,” said Trust CEO April Kopas. “The Trust isn’t just about promoting the arts and providing entertainment — we are committed to making our county and our communities a better place.”

The four newly-completed apartments feature all-new appliances (including a dishwasher and in-unit washer and dryer), all-inclusive utilities, wi-fi, a key-secured building and an elevator. Parking also is available.

The apartment rentals are intended as a revenue support for the Palace Theatre, which is operated by the Trust. The cost for completing the third-floor apartments was expected to be about $750,000.

Those interested in renting an apartment may call 724-836-1123, ext. 250, for additional information.
