Westmoreland County logs double-digit covid-19 cases for 3rd time this week

For the third time in four days, Westmoreland County experienced a double-digit increase in the number of new covid-19 cases, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
On Wednesday, the department reported 29 new cases and no additional deaths for the county. Sunday had 13 new cases, Monday had 20 and Tuesday had six.
This brings the county’s case total to 675. There have been 38 deaths.
Confirmed cases stand at 648, while 27 are probable.
About 17,698 people in the county have tested negative for the virus.
There are 87,242 cases and 6,687 deaths statewide, the health department said.
On June 5, Westmoreland County moved to the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening plan.
