Wexford’s Modern Piano under new ownership

Wexford’s Modern Piano store is entering a new chapter with the retirement of previous owners Dave and Cindy Byce.
Cranberry couple Anthony and Tara Braun officially took ownership of the store in August — with Tara Braun as the majority partner.
“It began with a push from my husband — who is always finds interests in unique business opportunities — combined with his very-biased opinion of my piano playing ability!” Tara Braun said. “As a piano player since the age of 5, I fell in love with the piano, as well as many art forms. I was fortunate enough to grow-up here in Pittsburgh … in a family with hard-working parents who required that my siblings and I take piano lessons.”
Tara Braun is a former PNC vice president and “career marketer,” and Anthony Braun was the former CFO/COO of the region’s Dunkin’ franchise, according to a news release.
“In my early teens, I became more and more interested in the arts and started to explore the internationally recognized institutions such as the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Warhol Museum, Carnegie Museum of Art, and later, the Mattress Factory Museum. I was even a Symphony season ticket holder at the age of 17, and worked as a PSO telemarketer while in college.”
The new owners held a reception at the store Sept. 21.
