Coping with Holiday Grief
Thursday, Nov. 9, 6 p.m.
Sinika Calloway, MSW, LSW will discuss ways to cope with grief and loss during the holidays. She will cover how to understand the difference between positive and negative coping and identify resources and tools to help with positive coping. Registration is required.
Craft Night: Book Fold Art
Thursday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m.
We will walk you through how to create your own folded book art piece and give some patterns for you to try on your own at home! Registration is $5 for this hands-on craft program. Sign up begins Nov. 1 at the Ask A Librarian desk on the second floor of the library.
Children, ‘Tweens and Teens
Soup Day! for families with children in preschool through grade five — Sunday, Nov. 5, 3 to 4 p.m.
What is better on a blustery autumn day than a cup of soup with a side of stories? Enjoy a taste of vegetable soup made with produce from our Soup Garden and hear stories about… soup! Registration is required for this free program.
Tummy Time! Babies up to 12 months and a caregiver are invited to join us for Tummy Time! — Tuesdays, Nov. 7, 14, 21, 10 to 10:30 a.m.
A physical therapist from Ivy Rehab will lead babies and their caregivers through a fun and engaging movement program. Registration is required for this series of three sessions.

Kids in grades kindergarten through 8 are invited to drop in to enjoy chess instruction, chess puzzles, and play pick-up games. No registration is required. Parents of children in grades K-4 must remain in the building during club time.

A STEAM-based hands-on storytime for children ages 3 to 6. Each week we will read a story, talk about what happened, then do a hands-on STEAM activity related to the book. Registration is required. Register each attending child.
Teen Library Council
First Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.

Become a library leader! Have your voice heard and learn about how the library works, all while getting volunteer hours. Members of the council have the opportunity to plan their own program (for children or other teens), create their own displays, and work with the Children and Teen Services department on other projects! Northland’s Teen Library Council is for teens ages 13 to 18. Registration is not required and drop-ins are welcome. Have a question, or want to join the email list?
