One of Downtown Pittsburgh’s busiest intersections was closed at 6 a.m. Tuesday and will remain shut down for about a month.
Port Authority officials said the entire intersection of Wood Street and Sixth Avenue has closed to allow for the replacement of the crosswalks and intersection.
Sixth Avenue is closed from Liberty Avenue to Smithfield Street, and Wood Street is closed from Oliver to Liberty avenues.
The Port Authority said 21 bus routes will detour because of the temporary closure of the intersection of Wood Street and Sixth Avenue. Access to the Wood Street station will remain available.
