Pennsylvania officials on Thursday reported 51 more covid-19 deaths and 467 additional cases, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 77,313, according to health officials.
A total of 6,113 people have died from the virus.
Approximately 5,888 of the total cases are from health care workers. There are 630 patients who have a positive serology test and either covid-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure, which are considered probable cases, but not confirmed.
There are 476,439 patients who have tested negative to date.
Pa. coronavirus by dayInfogramState officials Monday mandated that universal testing take place in Pennsylvania’s nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Most hospitalized patients and most who have died from covid-19 are age 65 or older.
Nursing and personal care home residents account for 16,357 of positive cases, as well as 2,871 positive cases among their employees.
Just over 4,200 of the 6,113 deaths — roughly 69% — in the state have been residents at 627 nursing and personal care facilities in 45 counties.
