The Pennsylvania Lottery is capitalizing on social media in a big way this weekend.

The Lottery will hold its first ever Facebook Live drawing at 7 p.m. Sunday. The live event is called 7-11-21® LIVE! and will give participants a chance to win up to $7,777.

“Our 7-11-21® LIVE Scratch-Off game has already been very popular with our players. This Facebook Live event, which has the same theme and a unique date, gives our players additional chances to win prizes,” said Pennsylvania Lottery executive director Drew Svitko.

The Lottery has set up some very specific rules for players who want to take part in the event. For starters, participants must tune into the event broadcast via the Lottery’s official Facebook page on July 11 at about 7:11 p.m.

Then players are required to make a qualifying comment during the event in the event chat window on the Lottery’s Facebook page. They must also meet all the participant requirements which can be seen on the page as well.

All three of these steps have to be completed during Sunday’s live event between about 7:11 p.m. and 7:32 p.m. The cash prizes are $77, $777, or $7,777 with one of those three prizes selected during the event.

Lottery officials say 40 participants will be randomly selected and qualify to win a prize.

“The Facebook Live event takes place during Lottery Week, and we can’t think of a better way to thank our players who support seniors each time they play,” said Svitko.

Proceeds from The Pennsylvania Lottery are used to fund programs that benefit senior citizens. According to the Lottery, since ticket sales began in 1972, it has contributed some $31 billion to fund property tax and rent rebates, transportation, care services, prescription assistance, and meals.
