A boy selling beer on the street in Utah was unusual enough for passers-by to call police.

Officers from the Brigham City Police Department on Tuesday found the boy hawking beer of the root variety. The department praised the youngster’s “Ice Cold Beer” sign as an effective marketing strategy.

”Yep, he’s selling beer … ROOT BEER, that is,” the Brigham officers posted on the department’s Facebook page to reassure and amuse residents.

The post had 2,700 reactions in less than 24 hours with 360 comments, most praising the young entrepreneur.

He reportedly sold out and planned to return to the spot the next day.
