At some point you’ll see a deepfake video that will break your belief that a recording is credible evidence. This may be that video.

Special effects have been tricking moviegoers for decades and we are generally willing to suspend our disbelief and enjoy Hollywood’s fantasy worlds.

But these are the days when manipulated videos are so easily created and virally shared that opinions may be swayed before we realize we have been duped.

A recent example of deepfakery showed Mark Zuckerberg purportedly sharing the nefarious goals of his Facebook platform.

Maybe you didn’t find Zuck’s manipulated voice completely convincing but a new piece from Ctrl Shift Face is a bit more polished.

A classic scene from “The Shining” with Jack Nicholson is overlayed with the face of Jim Carrey. Judge for yourself.

One commenter wrote, “This is so freaky, I have no words. The future is gonna be a dark place.”

Even some professional filmmakers were impressed.
