One recent day on the Pennsylvania Department of Health website, the total number of covid-19 cases in the state since April 1 was reported as 146,214. This number is an accumulation of every case reported since April 1. Not active cases today.

Let’s do the math: total cases 146,214 x active percent 18% (recovered = 82%) = 26,318. That means 26,318 people in Pennsylvania currently have covid-19.

According to the U.S Census Bureau, the 2019 population of Pennsylvania was 12.8 million people. More math: 26,318 current active cases ÷ by the state population 12.8 million = 0.002056134375. That’s 0.20% active covid-19 cases in Pennsylvania. Less than 1% of Pennsylvania’s population has covid-19 today.

I hope the governor reads the Trib. Open up, Pennsylvania.
