This is an example of a person who came here to be safe. It now happens day after day.

My name is No One. I am from a Hispanic country where we are ruled and subjected to cruelty, fear of death, hunger and illness.

I wanted to escape this madness, but I didn’t know anyone in the U.S. I decided to come here illegally since this was my only way of getting a normal life without fear, hunger and illness.

I am just a normal girl looking for a better life. I found a nice housekeeping job with a kind family. I am so very grateful, and so happy. Freedom and living without fear. I am not hungry anymore. I am no longer afraid!

Now, I am afraid again. Afraid of losing what I was looking for all my life. I might lose everything again. Where will I go? What will happen to me?

I can’t understand the cruelty of humanity. Why? What have I done that is so wrong? Why, oh why? I love God. I love people. I love my new family. Why, oh why?

It seems that Christianity doesn’t care what Christ was teaching us. “Love thy neighbor as thyself.”
