Jesus did not establish a church? Letter-writer Al Duerig (“Trump-Jesus comparison blasphemous,” Oct. 1, TribLIVE) is apparently unaware that many religious organizations consider Matthew 16:18 (“Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church”) to be their foundation.

Of course, the prattle about emoluments, a hijacked judicial branch and denial that the economy has improved is a good indication that Duerig relies solely on CNN-like news and opinion sources. That is not too surprising. Even the Tribune-Review’s Oct. 2 front-page Tribune News Service article, “Polls may be turning on Trump,” used a sole CNN-SSRS poll. The use of multiple and more reliable sources is something we can all benefit from.
