Letter to the editor: Tough to be a conservative Democrat

I can’t tell you how enervating it gets being a conservative Democrat in Pittsburgh. Heavens to Betsy, I grew up, birth forward, gargling like Listerine all the billions of humanitarian goals espoused by liberal and progressive post-hippy and beat generation intellectuals. Please trust me when I say I have virtue signaled long and loud. Lately, there’s been some inner turmoil coming out in the mouthwash.

Reviled President Trump recently announced the federal government, what’s there now and what little could soon be left of it as “the downsizing” takes place, will henceforth recognize only two genders: male and female. An aggressive trend in intersectionality, or the new gender politics, transgenderism inclusive, while in a jillion ways marvelous, could have the effect of complicating the jolly cash flow, federal government to happy, progressive Americans.

Everyone is free and at liberty to identify as the gender with which one feels grooviest. The Fed is simply simplifying cash flow. Think of what is happening as more money coming from the federal government to the states. More money to get the surgeries of our choosing!
