Voting by mail does not undermine election integrity. Fraud associated with mail-in and absentee ballots is incredibly rare, occurring at a rate of 0.000003% of all ballots cast in the U.S. Nonetheless, there has been nothing but hysteria and a tidal wave of deliberate lies and misinformation from this administration and its supporters about the integrity of mail-in voting.

So, what are the facts? The Heritage Foundation, a right-wing think tank, prepared a database of confirmed cases of voter fraud between 1982 and 2020. Over that 38-year period, only 208 cases of confirmed voter fraud by absentee ballot were found, out of more than 6 billion ballots casts in U.S. elections, or 0.000003%. The Heritage Foundation’s own data do not support the lies coming from the White House.

I will vote by mail and encourage others to do the same. Vote by mail. Vote safe. Vote and be counted.
