Scholarship fundraiser dinner
Enjoy dinner to go while helping raise funds for scholarship grants for Shaler Area High School seniors. Meals are cooked locally by Heavenly Cuisine Custom Catering and come complete with main dish, sides, and dessert.
Menu includes:
Sept. 8 – Stuffed shells, meatballs, salad, roll and dessert
Oct. 6 – Pork roast, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, roll and butter, apple pie.
Nov. 3 – Turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, coleslaw and pumpkin pie.
Orders are due the day before. Payment is $15 per meal, due at pick-up.

Library events
Shaler North Hills Library will be closed on Sept. 3-4 for Labor Day, as well as Sept. 30 for Shaler Homecoming during the day — but we will see you at the parade.
September is Love Your Library Month. Allegheny County public libraries receive a pro-rated match from the Jack Buncher Foundation for all donations received during the month. Check out these upcoming events and visit shalerlibrary.org for more information and registration details.
Mini Flea Market – Sept. 1-10 during library hours. You never know what you’ll find, but that’s part of the fun! Browse and buy to benefit your library.
Book Bonanza (at Hampton Community Library) – Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. Your favorite local libraries (Hampton, Northern Tier, and Shaler North Hills) are teaming up for a fun evening of celebrating local neighborhood book clubs! BYOB and snacks. Corkage fee can be paid at event. There will be a prize for the best snacks. Send your top five favorite book club reads to snhlibrary@gmail.com. Cost is $10 per person; teams of 8 or fewer. Space is limited.
Puzzle Competition for Adults 21+ – Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. Gather a team and compete against others to see how fast you can complete a 750-piece puzzle. Gift card prizes; cost is $20 per person (teams of up to five). BYOB. Snacks and desserts provided.
“Lessons in Chemistry” Trivia Night for Adults 21+ – Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. Celebrate this popular book as it hits Apple TV+ in October. Gather a team of up to six people or come yourself and have some fun! BYOB. We’ll bring the snacks and sample themed foods. Prizes too! Cost is $20 per person (teams of up to five).
Greybrooke Garden Club
Greybrooke Garden Club holds regular meetings the second Wednesday of the month in the fellowship hall of Parkwood United Presbyterian Church, 4289 Mt. Royal Blvd., Allison Park. Founded in 1969 in the residential Greybrooke neighborhood, club members now reside in various communities of Pittsburgh’s North Hills. The club will host a fall mum sale 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 9 at McCandless Crossing in the grassy area near BJ’s Restaurant and Bonefish Grill. Proceeds from this fundraiser help support annual donations to conservancy groups and worthy community organizations.
