One of the resources available to Shaler Area School District students is Advanced Placement classes and exams, which positions students well for future academic pursuits. The AP Scholar Awards recognize high school students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level achievement on AP Exams. Shaler has 29 scholars this year. AP Scholars: Kylie Brooks, Andrew Deal, Thomas Emanuele, Elena Flavin, Joseph Gannon, Hannah Guiste, Laura Heere, Talia Montgomery, William Nebiolo, Daniel Patel, Matthew Purucker, Dunnovan Ronel, Rachel Scierka, Ava Stabile, Katie Sullivan, Michael Ulery, Michael Valdez and John Youk. AP Scholars with Distinction: Gina Aluise, Sophia Duty, Jacob Grabowski, Ronald Molnar, William Rea, Lauren Ross, Claire Stevens and Raymond Wagner. AP Scholars with Honor: Hannah Bedeck, Sarah Naccarato and Lauren Rudolph. National African American Recognition Award: Dunnovan Ronel.

Luke Franks and Noah Paszkowski made the dean’s list at Youngstown State University for the spring 2023 semester.

Rory Sauereisen has been named to St. Lawrence University’s dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester.

Christopher King, Maygen Luce and Rehema Muhina made the president’s list at Southern New Hampshire University for the summer 2023 semester.
