With an extra year of eligibility, it was just a matter of time before Bailey Parshall took over the Penn State softball record book.

That time came Tuesday in University Park.

They call her “Queen B” but Parshall is more like “Queen K.”

The fifth-year pitcher broke two program records, becoming the career leader in strikeouts and shutouts as the Nittany Lions blanked visiting Bucknell, 9-0, at Beard Field at Nittany Lion Softball Park.

The former Belle Vernon star now has 750 strikeouts, passing Missy Beseres (745).

Jackie Hill had the shutout record of 20, but Parshall now has 21.

Parshall (15-8, 1.65 ERA), a fast-throwing southpaw, tossed five innings to register her seventh shutout of the season. She struck out six and did not walk anybody for Penn State (24-13).
