Carlow senior Olivia Miller earned the respect of her opponents during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

Now, she is being held in high regard by every athletic director in the River States Conference. Very high regard.

Miller, a Ligonier Valley graduate, was named the RSC Female Athlete of the Year after mutiple sterling performances in 2020-21.

After a vote by the ADs, the award goes to the top athlete among nine conference sports. Each school can nominate one athlete.

Miller had a career year.

She was the RSC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, and she won four conference championships between the indoor and outdoor seasons. She was a three-time NAIA All-American this year alone. She competed in seven events during the RSC Indoor Championships, winning titles in the long jump and high jump.

She was an all-conference selection in all three jumps and in the 60-meter hurdles. Miller also competed in the shot put, 600 meters and distance-medley relay.

At the NAIA Indoor Championships, she earned All-America honors by placing sixth in the pentathlon and sixth in the high jump.

When she competed in the RSC Outdoor Championships, she entered six events and won two: the long and triple jumps. She earned all-conference accolades in the 100-meter hurdles and also competed in the high jump, shot put and javelin.

At the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, she again earned All-America recognition as she took fourth in the high jump.
