Weber State’s Jamison Overton, Alex Tew and Koby McEwen defend on Duquesne’s Toby Okani in the second half on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

Duquesne forward Toby Okani has entered the NCAA transfer portal after spending two seasons with the Dukes.

The 6-foot-8 Okani, who has three years of eligibility remaining, averaged 3.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game this season in 30 games, 15 as a starter.

While averaging 20.1 minutes, Okani shot 36.4% (48 for 132) but made just 6 of 31 (19.4 %) from 3-point range. He also finished third on the team in blocks (15) and fourth in steals (22).

Okani and guard Tyson Acuff were the only players returning from 2021 who played meaningful minutes this season for Duquesne, which replaced 10 of its top 12 scorers from last year’s season-opening roster.

Duquesne was ranked sixth among 10 Division I programs that added 4,000 or more career points to its roster with transfers and was the highest-ranked non-Power 5 program on the list. The Dukes’ 939 points per player was third behind only Kansas and SMU.
