Former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Maxim Cajkovic has signed with HC Litvínov of the Extraliga ledního hokeje (ELH) in Czechia.

That team announced the transaction via a release Wednesday.

The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired Cajkovic via a trade with the Minnesota Wild on Jan. 25 and he split the remainder of the 2023-24 season with either Wilkes-Barre/Scranton or Wheeling of the ECHL.

A right-handed shot, the 23-year-old Cajkovic appeared in five American Hockey League games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and scored two points (one goal, one assist). With Wheeling, he played in 13 contests and recorded four assists.

Cajkovic, a native of Slovakia just completed a three-year entry-level contract with a salary cap hit of $850,833. A pending restricted free agent with regard to his NHL status, Cajkovic did not receive a qualifying offer from the Penguins and was allowed to become an unrestricted free agent.

Following this transaction, five active players who finished the 2023-24 season under contract with the Penguins remain unsigned for the 2024-25 campaign.
