Robert Morris men’s basketball plays Bowling Green on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at UPMC Events Center in Moon.

There will be no spectators at Robert Morris men’s and women’s basketball games the rest of the season after the Horizon League Board of Directors voted to play in empty arenas.

In an attempt to curtail the spread of covid-19, the directors previously decided not to allow people inside through December’s league games.

Robert Morris officials said fans who purchased a season ticket package will be contacted regarding their options.

Meanwhile, there have been a total of only five games at UPMC Events Center this season.

The men’s team (3-3, 2-1) canceled games against IUPUI scheduled for Friday and Saturday and hasn’t played since defeating Milwaukee, 67-64, on New Year’s Day. The Robert Morris women (0-6, 0-6) also canceled games on those days against Northern Kentucky.
