The IUP men’s basketball team did not let a wardrobe malfunction deter it from victory.

The Crimson Hawks forgot their road uniforms for a PSAC game at Edinboro, so the host team obliged, lending IUP their road jerseys at McComb Fieldhouse in Erie.

Edinboro wore the awkward and probably itchy red uniforms, making the game look more like an Edinboro Red-White scrimmage.

IUP still won the game, 87-59, to clinch the PSAC Western Division title.

The Crimson Hawks (25-2, 18-2), ranked No. 2 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Coaches’ Poll and No. 1 in the Atlantic Regional poll, also have coach Joe Lombardi his 300th win in his 13th season.

Senior guard Malik Miller scored a career-high 26 points, including a career-high six 3-pointers in the win.

Senior forward Jacobo Diaz added 16 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.

IUP made 16 3-pointers with senior guard Dante Lombardi hitting five from long range and finishing with 15 points.

IUP swept the season series from Edinboro (9-16, 6-14), defeating the Fighting Scots, 102-53, in their more comfortable home digs earlier in the season.

IUP will have a first-round bye in the PSAC Tournament.

The uniform gaffe made ESPN SportsCenter’s “Not Top 10.” It was ranked No. 1 for the month of February.
