JJ Matijevic has made his presence known in the Arizona Fall League.
The 23-year-old Norwin graduate and Houston Astros prospect was selected to play in the AFL All-Star Game set for 5 p.m. Saturday at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Maricopa County, Ariz.
Matijevic, a first baseman for the Peoria Javelinas, is hitting .303 (20 for 66) with two home runs and 11 RBIs in 16 games.
Matijevic came back strong after serving a 50-game suspension for failing a second test for a drug of abuse.
He hit .246 with nine homers and 35 RBIs in 73 games with the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks.
