Minor league report: Alex Nylander leads Penguins past Wolf Pack in shootout

A shootout goal by forward Alex Nylander gave the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a 4-3 road win against the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. on Saturday.

Goaltender Filip Lindberg made 27 saves on 30 shots in regulation and overtime then stopped all three shots he faced in the shootout while forwards Corey Andonovski, Filip Hallander and Nylander scored goals in regulation for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (2-0-1-0).

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Providence Bruins on Sunday, 3:05 p.m.

Goaltender Tommy Nappier made 25 saves on 30 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a season-opening 5-3 loss to the Toledo Walleye at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Forward Cam Hausinger recorded three assists for Wheeling while forward Brooklyn Kalmikov added two assists.

The Nailers’ next game is home contest against the Walleye on Sunday, 4:10 p.m.
