Forwards Alex Nylander and Valtteri Puustinen each had a goal and an assist for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-2 road loss to the Syracuse Crunch at the Upstate Medical University Arena in Syracuse, N.Y. on Friday.

Goaltender Dustin Tokarski made 37 saves on 40 shots for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (22-22-2-5) while forward Drake Caggiula contributed two assists.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Belleville Senators on Saturday, 6 p.m.

A shootout goal by forward Brooklyn Kalmikov gave the Wheeling Nailers a 2-1 home win against the Norfolk Admirals at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.

Goaltender Tommy Nappier made 29 saves on 30 shots in the victory while forward Cédric Desruisseaux scored the lone regulation goal for Wheeling (22-23-5-0).

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Admirals, 7:10 p.m.
