Defenseman Jack Rathbone scored two goals for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 6-3 home loss to the Syracuse Crunch at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Forward Austin Rueschhoff also scored for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (6-5-1-0) which had a three-game winning streak snapped. Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 19 saves on 24 shots as his record fell to 1-1-1.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the rival Hershey Bears on Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.

Two goals by forward Tanner Laderoute led the Wheeling Nailers to a 5-2 home win against the Idaho Steelheads at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Forwards Justin Addamo and Jordan Frasca each had a goal and an assist for Wheeling (5-2-0-0) while forward Dillon Hamaliuk contributed two assists. Goaltender Michael McNiven made 34 saves earning a win in his season debut.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Steelheads on Sunday, 4:10 p.m.
