Minor league report: Losing streaks continue for Penguins, Nailers

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 30 saves on 33 shots in regulation and overtime for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-3 road shootout loss to the Providence Bruins at Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, R.I. on Friday.

Forward Tyler Sikura had a regulation goal and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (20-19-2-4) which has lost four consecutive games.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Bruins on Saturday, 6:05 p.m.

Goaltender Brad Barone made 29 saves on 33 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 4-3 overtime home loss to the Norfolk Admirals at WesBanco Arena.

Defensemen Louie Roehl, Jack Van Boekel and forward Jordan Frasca all scored goals for Wheeling (19-21-5-0), which has lost five consecutive games.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Admirals on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
