Minor league report: Nailers edge Wings

Defenseman Chris Ortiz scored two goals for the Wheeling Nailers in a 4-3 home win against the Kalamazoo Wings at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Friday.

Forwards Justin Almeida and Tim Doherty each recorded two assists for Wheeling (28-19-1-0) while goaltender Brody Claeys made 21 saves on 24 saves in the victory.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Wings on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
