Minor league report: Nailers fall in Derek Army’s debut as coach

Goaltender Shane Starrett made 31 saves on 36 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 5-2 road loss to the Fort Wayne Komets at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Friday.

The defeat came in Derek Army’s debut as the Nailers’ interim head coach.

Defensemen Matt Foley and Jesse Lees each scored goals for Wheeling (16-25-5-1).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Komets on Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
