Minor league report: Penguins, Alex D’Orio shut out Monsters

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 18 saves and recorded his first shutout of the season for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-0 road win against the Cleveland Monsters at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on Friday.

Forwards Anthony Angello, Jonathan Gruden, Sam Poulin and defenseman Taylor Fedun each scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (15-17-1-3).

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Monsters on Saturday, 7 p.m.

Goaltender Stefanos Lekkas made 23 saves on 30 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 7-2 road loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones at Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati.

Forwards Shaw Boomhauer and Tim Doherty each scored goals for Wheeling (19-17-1-0).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Toledo Walleye on Saturday, 7:15 p.m.
