Minor league report: Penguins fall into last place
Goaltender Filip Lindberg made 13 saves on 19 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in an 8-2 road loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. on Saturday.
After allowing six goals, Lindberg was replaced at 4:38 of the second period by goaltender Taylor Gauthier who stopped nine of the 11 shots he faced. Defenseman Taylor Fedun and forward Jonathan Gruden each scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (20-19-2-3) which has lost three consecutive games and slipped into last place of the American Hockey League’s Atlantic Division.

Goaltender Bailey Brkin made 16 saves on 21 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 7-2 home loss to the Iowa Heartlanders at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.
The Nailers swapped Brikn out at the start of the third period and replaced him with goaltender Brad Barone who stopped six of the eight shots he faced. Defenseman David Drake recorded two assists for Wheeling (19-19-4-0).

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Toledo Walleye on Sunday, 5:15 p.m.
