Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins goaltender Filip Larsson made 33 saves in a 5-0 win against the Hartford Wolf Pack at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Goaltender Filip Larsson made 33 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-0 win against the Hartford Wolf Pack at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

The result was Larsson’s fourth shutout of the season — tied for most in the American Hockey League — and boosted his record to 6-3-1. Overall, it was the Penguins’ fifth shutout in 2024-25.

Forward Emil Bemstrom had two goals and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (18-8-3-0) while forward Rutger McGroarty scored two goals.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Toronto Marlies on Wednesday, 7 p.m.


Forward Gabe Klassen had a goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers who were routed by the Norfolk Admirals, 9-3, at the Norfolk (Va.) Scope.

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made three saves on seven shots in 12:20 of ice time and recorded the loss, dropping his record to 5-2-0. He was replaced by Sergei Murashov who stopped 16 of 20 shots.

Forward David Jankowski collected two assists for Wheeling (23-6-1-0) which has a five-game winning streak halted.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Indy Fuel on Wednesday, 7 p.m.
