Minor league report: Penguins finish season with loss to Bears

Defenseman Cam Lee had a goal and an assist for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins who concluded their season with a 5-2 road loss to the rival Hershey Bears at the Giant Center in Hershey on Sunday.

Forward Drew O’Connor also scored a goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (13-13-4-2) while goaltender Brett Brochu made 31 saves on 36 shots in the defeat.

Highlights:

The Penguins finished the season in fifth place of the American Hockey League’s North Division.

Forward Tim Doherty, Patrick Watling and Joshua Winquist each had a goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers in a 6-3 home loss to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.

Goaltender Louis-Philip Duindon made 32 saves on 38 shots for Wheeling (19-33-5-1).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Swamp Rabbits on Friday, 7:05 p.m.
