Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 20 saves on 23 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-2 loss to the rival Hershey Bears at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

The result dropped Murashov’s record to 11-3-0.

Forwards Tristan Broz and Mathieu de St. Phalle scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (37-22-7-1, 82 points), which has lost four consecutive games (0-4-0).

Highlights:

Goaltender Joel Blomqvist dressed as the backup to Murashov in this contest. Due to an undisclosed injury, Blomqvist’s most recent contest at any level came as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 2.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Springfield Thunderbirds.

A pair of goals by forward Matthew Quercia led the Wheeling Nailers to a 5-2 win against the Trois-Rivières Lions at the Colisée Vidéotron in Trois-Rivières, Quebec.

Forward Jordan Martel added a goal and an assist for Wheeling (42-24-3-1, 88 points) which has won six of its past seven games (6-1-0) while defenseman Louie Roehl contributed two assists.

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier’s record improved to 18-10-2 after he stopped 21 of 23 shots.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Lions on Saturday, 3 p.m.
