Minor league report: Penguins’ winning-streak snapped in overtime

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 28 saves on 30 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 2-1 overtime home loss to the Providence Bruins at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Forward Jonathan Gruden scored the lone goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (18-17-2-3), which had a season-best four-game winning streak snapped.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Rochester Americans on Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.

Goaltender Stefanos Lekkas made 14 saves on 18 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 4-1 home loss to the Iowa Heartlanders at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Forward Tyler Drevitch scored the only goal for Wheeling Nailers (21-18-1-0).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Cincinnaty Cyclones on Sunday, 4:10 p.m.
