Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Peter Abbandonato scored two goals in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Springfield Thunderbirds at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Forward Peter Abbandonato scored two goals for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-3 overtime loss at home against the Springfield Thunderbirds at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Defenseman Will Butcher and forward Rem Pitlick each recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (10-8-3-0) while forward Valtteri Puustinen contributed a goal.

In net, goaltender Joel Blomqvist made 27 saves on 31 shots as his record fell to 6-3-2.

Forward Dillon Hamaliuk had a goal and two assists for the Wheeling Nailers in a 4-3 overtime road loss to the Indy Fuel at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.

Linemate Jordan Frasca recorded two assists for Wheeling (8-9-1-0) while defenseman David Bunz and forward Tanner Laderoute each contributed goals

Stopping 17 of 21 shots, goaltender Michael McNiven saw his record move to 2-2-1.
