Forward Sam Poulin returned to the lineup after missing 18 games due to an undisclosed injured and scored a goal for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 2-1 home win against the Rochester Americans at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Goaltender Magnus Hellberg made 23 saves on 24 shots, improving his record to 5-3-0. Forward Alex Nylander had a goal and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (14-9-3-0), which has won three consecutive games.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Belleville Senators on Thursday, 7 p.m.


Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 32 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-0 shutout of the Cincinnati Cyclones at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

It was Gauthier’s second shutout of the season and improved his record to 8-5-1. Forward Dillon Hamaliuk had a goal and two assists for Wheeling (12-10-1-1) while defensemen Davis Bunz and Justin Lee each contributed a goal.
