Instead of opening the season against the Cardinals, as originally scheduled March 31-April 3, the Pittsburgh Pirates will play host to their NL Central rivals in the final week of the season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates released their updated regular-season schedule Wednesday, making up games against the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds that were postponed because of the lockout.

The season was supposed to end against the Reds on Sept. 28. Instead, there will be a day off followed by a visit by the Cardinals for a three-game series from Oct. 3-5 at PNC Park.

The Pirates will make up a three-game series against the Reds with a split doubleheader May 7 at Great American Ball Park, with games starting at 12:35 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.

The Pirates will visit Cincinnati for a single game at 6:40 p.m. on July 7, a previously scheduled day off that follows two home games against the New York Yankees and precedes a 10-game road trip to Milwaukee, Miami and Colorado. The other two games against the Reds will be another split doubleheader on Sept. 13.
