In seven games this season, Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry has a 4-2-1 record.

The Penguins are expected to start goaltender Tristan Jarry for Saturday’s home game against the Seattle Kraken.

In seven games this season, Jarry has a 4-2-1 record, a 3.42 goals against average and .904 save percentage.

Jarry has played in one career game against the Kraken. During a 2-1 overtime home loss on Jan. 27, Jarry made 27 saves on 29 shots.

Notes:

• Forward Teddy Blueger was ruled out for Saturday’s game by coach Mike Sullivan. Sidelined since suffering an undisclosed injury during a training camp practice Sept. 28, Blueger is currently designated to long-term injured reserve and is eligible to be removed from that designation as of Saturday.

• Forward Jeff Carter participated in Saturday’s optional morning skate and was also ruled out for Saturday’s game. He had not participated in on-ice team activities since suffering an undisclosed injury during the Penguins’ 3-1 road loss to the Kraken last Saturday.

• The remainder of the lineup was termed as a “game-time decision” by Sullivan. That includes forwards Josh Archibald and Jake Guentzel.

Archibald was not present for a practice in Cranberry on Thursday for what was described as a maintenance day and did not participate in Saturday’s morning skate.

Guentzel was present for the morning skate. He did not practice in Cranberry on Thursday due to an illness.

• Those who participated in the optional skate include:

Forwards – Blueger, Carter, Guentzel, Evgeni Malkin, Brock McGinn, Drew O’Connor, Sam Poulin

Defensemen – P.O Joseph, Marcus Pettersson, Chad Ruhwedel

Goaltenders – Casey DeSmith, Tristan Jarry

• The Penguins enter Saturday’s game with a six-game losing streak. They have not had a losing streak longer than that since a seven-game skid between Jan. 26 and Feb. 8, 2006.

• Goaltender Martin Jones is expected to start in net for the Kraken. In nine games this season, Jones has a 5-3-1 record, a 2.69 goals against average, an .893 save percentage and one shutout.

Jones was in net for his team’s victory against the Penguins on Oct. 29 and made 32 saves on 33 shots in that contest.

• Former Penguins forward Jared McCann is expected to miss his second consecutive game due to an undisclosed injury.

• The Kraken, a second-year expansion team, are one of three active NHL franchises that the Penguins have never recorded a shutout against. The other two are the Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights.
