BOSTON — Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry left during the first period of Monday’s game against the Boston Bruins at Fenway Park in the NHL’s Winter Classic.
With the game scoreless, Jarry, a two-time All-Star, appeared to suffer an undisclosed injury and exited the rink at 15 minutes, 30 seconds of the first period.
Replaced by backup Casey DeSmith, Jarry grimaced as he left the ice and lumbered to the visiting dugout at the iconic baseball venue. He was escorted by head team physician Dr. Dharmesh Vyas.
There was no immediate word on Jarry’s status. He had made eight saves before departing.
