The Pittsburgh Penguins assigned forward Sam Poulin to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League Monday following a team practice in Cranberry.

Poulin, the Penguins’ first-round (No. 21 overall) draft pick in 2019, skated in a career-high six NHL contests this season after playing in three both in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Over his latest stint in Pittsburgh, the 23-year-old averaged 10 minutes, 6 seconds of nightly ice time and recorded one assist.

He had been exclusively deployed at right wing on the Penguins’ third line.

Before his recall Nov. 11, Poulin had scored three goals with six assists in 11 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The Penguins inked him to a two-year contract worth $775,000 annually in April.
