The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled forward Joona Koppanen from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL) under emergency roster conditions.

It is not yet publicly known what those conditions are.

This marks the second time this season Koppanen has been summoned to the NHL roster. Previously, Koppanen was recalled March 18 before being returned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday.

In five NHL games, the left-handed Koppanen has one goal while averaging 14:21 of ice time per contest.

At the AHL level, Koppanen (6-foot-5, 210 pounds) has appeared in 55 contests and has scored 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists).

Koppanen is in the final year of a two-year contract that carries a salary cap hit of $775,000.
