Penguins scheduled to start goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic against Sabres

In 38 games last season, Penguins goaltender Alex Nedeljovic had an 18-7-7 record.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are scheduled to start goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic against the Buffalo Sabres in a preseason contest at PPG Paints Arena on Tuesday.

A team spokesperson announced Nedeljkovic’s status. It was not immediately clear if he is scheduled to play the complete game.

Last season, Nedeljkovic appeared in 38 games and posted an 18-7-7 record, a 2.97 goals against average, a .902 save percentage and one shutout.

Prospect Joel Blomqvist is scheduled to dress as the backup.

• The top power-play unit included Aho, Beauvillier, Glass, Kevin Hayes and McGroarty. The second power-play unit involved Acciari, Avery Hayes, Johnstone, Kral and Poulin.

• The Sabres announced the players they would be sending to Pittsburgh via social media:

Forwards – Ty Cheveldayoff, Josh Dunne, Konsta Helenius, Mason Jobst, Aleksander Kisakov, Brett Murray, Olivier Nadeau, Noah Ostlund, Isak Rosen, Graham Slaggert, Tyler Tullio, Anton Wahlberg, Brendan Warren

Defenseman – Ryan Johnson, Vsevolod Komarov, Noah Laaouan, Zach Metsa, Nikita Novikov, Ethan Prow, Jack Rathbone

Goaltenders – Michael Houser, Scott Ratzlaff

• Houser is a native of Youngstown, Ohio who grew up in Wexford. Prow and Rathbone are each former members of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
