The Penguins are scheduled to open the 2022 preseason with a home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sept. 25.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will open the preseason with rare split-squad games against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sept. 25.

In total, the Penguins will play in six preseason contests with three at home and three on the road.

The schedule:

Sept. 25 — vs. Columbus Blue Jackets, 1 p.m.

Sept. 25 — at Columbus Blue Jackets, 7 p.m.

Sept. 27 — vs. Detroit Red Wings, 7 p.m.

Oct. 1 — at Buffalo Sabres, 1 p.m.

Oct. 3 — at Detroit Red Wings, 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 7 — vs. Buffalo Sabres, 7 p.m.

Potential broadcast information has yet to be announced.
